My role encompassed the full product design lifecycle — from discovery and user research through information architecture, wireframing, high-fidelity UI design, and a scalable component system.

Equipment rental is operationally fragmented

Rental businesses particularly small to mid-sized shops — struggle with disconnected tools. Bookings are logged in spreadsheets, inventory tracked manually, and customer communication handled through email threads. This creates costly errors, double bookings, and an overall lack of operational visibility.

Understanding the people behind the problem

Research focused on two primary user groups: the rental business operator (who both manages and profits from the system) and the end customer (who rents equipment). Desk research, competitive analysis, and stakeholder conversations shaped early understanding.
